What’s In Store for Marriott Vacations Worldwide for Remainder of 2019

Well, there may only be a few weeks left in the year, but they are certainly packed full with events and activities at Marriott Vacation properties across the U.S. In case you’re holidays take you on an adventure, here are some opportunities to take a vacation AND do good.

Marriott’s Oceana Palms in Riviera Beach, FL

We’ll be finishing strong by promoting the following activities for November and December:

• CMN Fundraising Lawn Party:  guests donate $5 and it comes with hot dog, s’mores, lemonade and glass of sangria
• CMN poolside lemonade activity:  $30 donation to CMN comes with MVC water bottle and free refills on lemonade or spiked vodka lemonade from 12-2pm on Saturdays
• Housekeeping sponsored CMN garage sale
• Admin sponsored CMN cookout

Marriott’s Shadow Ridge Resort in Palm Desert, CA

Two of our annual CMN Holiday events are our Turkey Trot and Reindeer Romp. For each we get between 250-350 participants!

Marriott’s Summit Watch in Park City, UT

Along with our other activities we do, we are going to join MI and have Cookies and Milk with story time through the month of December.

Marriott’s BeachPlace Towers in Fort Lauderdale, FL

We have most success with our wristband sales, so this is our primary way to raise funds with our guests and associates.  For our guests, we’ve purchased different color bands to appeal to our owners and guests.  For our associates, we have a creative incentive program for our Guest Service Agents in which the top 3 associates are recognized each month.  We also frequently educate the team on Children’s Miracle Network’s efforts and how impactful their contribution is to the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and have a display with wristband sales by associate that is updated daily.

In addition, we’ll be providing a breakfast each week to our owners and guests with a suggestion to donate to CMN.  We will have signage displayed and information regarding the organization.  We will also be selling shirts and mugs during our peak arrival and checkout times.

Marriott’s Grand Residence Club and Timber Lodge in South Lake Tahoe, CA

At Grand Residence Club, our Housekeeping Team has played a huge role in meeting our goal.  They cook Hispanic food and we sell it to our associates during lunch time and we turn it into an event for our guests in the afternoon.

Canned Critters have done extremely well at Timber Lodge and they also sell at Grand Residence Club. Canned Critters are a stuffed animal that fits in a can and pops out.  Examples would be wolves, bears, and a moose. Timber Lodge sells them in their Marketplace and GRC sells them at the Front Desk. Kids love them!

We also do “Casual for Kids” days where associates can pay $5 to wear jeans. The Activities Teams at both sites give the revenue from certain activities to CMN.

A packed few months indeed for the Marriott Vacations Worlwide partnership!
